The International Electrotechnical Commission(IEC)released IEC 61131-3 in 1993,and it has gradually been widely recognized and accepted by the global industry,becoming an international standard for industrial control automation programming languages such as PLC,DCS,and robot control.The development of technology has played a pivotal role in promoting.
However,due to its early development,IEC 61131-3 does not support reconfiguration and distributed control in concept.Its limitations are that the software model only supports single device programming,lacks the concept of a system,and does not meet the software requirements of distributed structures.It does not support rapid response to concurrent and random events,and devices from different manufacturers are not compatible with each other.
